Swiss skater Lukas Brügger has been crowned the European Figure Skating Champion.

The Ukrainian figure skater finished in 16th place.
Чемпионом Европы по фигурному катанию стал швейцарец Лукас Бриги.

The European Figure Skating Championships have concluded in Tallinn. The final set of medals was contested by the men. In a surprising turn of events, Swiss skater Lukas Brügger emerged victorious with a score of 267.9 points. After the short program, he was in eighth place. However, a well-executed free program and mistakes from his competitors earned him his first career championship title.
The silver medal went to Italian Nicolai Memola (262.61)

Adam Xiao Him Fa, a two-time continental champion and the leader after the short program, fell short of his best performances while skating to music from "Dune." Falls and errors in jumps cost him points. This season, the International Skating Union officially allowed the execution of flips during competitions. In previous seasons, Adam performed them regardless, incurring a two-point penalty. Even with that penalty, he still had enough margin to win. This year, he likely wouldn't have been able to afford such a luxury. Ultimately, Adam scored 257.99 points and finished in third place. Notably, the figure skater celebrated his birthday during the championship. He turned 24 on January 31.

Ukrainian skater Ivan Shmuratyko finished the tournament in 16th place. This marks his fourth continental championship. It’s worth noting that last year he placed 14th. Ahead of the 2025 European Championships, the skater decided to auction off an original shirt he wore during his performance in 2024, with the proceeds directed to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

23-year-old Ivan Shmuratyko remains the leader of the Ukrainian figure skating team for the second consecutive Olympic cycle.

The competitions have concluded, and on Sunday, the best figure skaters in Europe will delight audiences with traditional exhibition performances.
