A Tesla car exploded near the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, with police suspecting it was a deliberate detonation.

The Tesla Cybertruck exploded in Las Vegas near the entrance of a hotel associated with the elected U.S. President Donald Trump.

The vehicle was loaded with cans of fuel and fireworks. The police have yet to determine whether this was an act against Trump or his ally, Tesla owner Elon Musk, as reported by CNN.

According to the police, around 8:40 AM, the vehicle stopped in front of the glass doors of the Trump Hotel, emitted smoke, and then exploded.

The driver of the vehicle was killed, and seven others sustained minor injuries. Firefighters extinguished the flames from the car. Hotel guests were evacuated and subsequently relocated to another area.

The police reported that the cans of gasoline, fireworks, and containers for igniting and cooking outdoors were connected to detonators activated by the deceased driver from the cabin.

The Las Vegas police sheriff stated that an investigation is ongoing, including whether this incident is related to the mass shooting in New Orleans.

Moreover, as noted by McMahill, the investigation will determine whether the incident at the hotel was directed against Trump or Musk.

“It’s evident that the Cybertruck and Trump Hotel are connected, raising many questions that need answers,” said the sheriff.

The FBI is also involved in the investigation alongside the police.

After reviewing surveillance footage, police discovered that the electric pickup passed by the Trump Hotel an hour before the explosion, then turned around, stopped at the entrance, and within seconds erupted into flames and exploded.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk initially stated on his X network that the entire Tesla management is investigating the incident, later claiming that the explosion was caused by “a very large amount of fireworks and/or a bomb in the rented Cybertruck” and was not related to the state of the vehicle itself.

Musk has reportedly become one of Donald Trump’s closest allies in recent months, effectively sponsoring his election campaign.
