For the first time in 73 days, Russian forces launched a missile and drone strike on Kyiv.
This is reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA).
The enemy likely used air-launched cruise missiles, ballistic missiles KN-23/KN-24/Iskander-M, and drones of the Shahed/Geranium/Gerbera/Parody types.
“An air raid alert was declared in the capital at half-past six in the morning due to the threat of UAVs from the eastern direction. At that time, cruise missiles were already heading towards Kyiv region. As the missiles approached Kyiv, the enemy simultaneously launched a ballistic strike on the capital,” the report states.
It is noted that the enemy attack concluded with drones. The airstrike by the Russian armed forces on Kyiv lasted more than 2 hours.
According to data from KMVA, during the air defense battle, the defense forces destroyed several cruise missiles, several ballistic missiles, and up to a dozen enemy drones.
Meanwhile, the State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported that as a result of the morning missile shelling in the Kyiv region, one person was injured.
“A building was destroyed, and a fire broke out in the Brovary district of Kyiv region,” the report states.
Rescuers extinguished the fire.
