The police in Lviv region detained a 34-year-old man who stole a Citroen car on January 30 right from in front of a store in Stryi. This was reported on Saturday, February 1, by the press service of the Lviv Regional Police.
According to the police, the owner left the vehicle in front of the store, and when he came out, it was gone. The police located the car in one of the villages of the Stryi district thanks to the surveillance cameras of the "Safe Lviv Region" system.
The thief turned out to be a previously convicted 34-year-old resident of the Stryi area; he was arrested and a suspicion was announced. A preventive measure will soon be chosen for the suspect. If proven guilty, he faces a prison sentence of five to eight years with or without confiscation of property.
The vehicle was seized by law enforcement officials and placed in a special lot.
