The Ministry of Defense has announced that servicemen aged under 25 who voluntarily sign a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine can approach their commanders to learn about the process for receiving a monetary reward.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Dmytro Lazutkin, during a telethon.
According to Lazutkin, a payment of 1 million UAH is available for servicemen of the private, sergeant, and senior sergeant ranks who joined the military prior to the new contract terms coming into effect.
He also added that after the contract expires, servicemen have the right to either resign or sign a new contract. Additionally, citizens who have served under contract cannot be conscripted into the military for mobilization within 12 months.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that Ukraine officially launched an annual contract for volunteers aged 18–24. Signing such a contract promises 1 million UAH: 200,000 UAH is paid immediately, with the remainder provided during service.
