On January 14, a widespread internet outage was recorded in the Russian internet, affecting numerous providers and users across the country.

Russian media outlets report on this situation.

It is noted that the internet is down by 97% among key Russian telecommunications operators: "Rostelecom," "Dom.ru," "Megafon," "Beeline," and "Tele2."

Users from Penza, Perm, Kazan, and other regions are reporting complete inaccessibility to most internet resources, including websites, video hosting services, social networks, and banking applications. According to the Downdetector service, the outages have also affected the functionality of messengers.

Furthermore, social networks such as Telegram and VK have already begun experiencing issues. As highlighted by Russian Telegram channels, internet access in Russia is "virtually impossible."

In the meantime, Roskomnadzor is informing that they are unaware of the reasons behind the internet issues: "Outages are being recorded across all operators; the cause of the disruption is being investigated," the statement reads.
