Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that there were attempts on his life. He mentioned that during one of these assassination attempts, people from the President's Office were killed.
He made this statement during an interview with the Guardian.
The head of state recounted events from the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion when Russia proposed a "peace" agreement that, according to him, required betrayal of Ukrainian national interests.
He noted that at that time, he was receiving "messengers," including from the parliamentary corps, who "came and said, 'Tomorrow we will be occupied, we need to run.'"
In addition, leaders from various countries called him and urged him to leave.
"There was pressure from various sides. There were people who wanted to [kill me], there were gunshots. Some people died here, inside our office," Zelensky recounted.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that Russian intelligence claimed that Ukraine was allegedly planning assassinations of Russian opposition figures abroad. The Foreign Intelligence Service also stated that Ukrainian special services, "with the assistance of Western curators," are planning to blow up a foreign vessel in the Baltic Sea.
