The Verkhovna Rada has adopted the draft law №12457 in its entirety concerning the mandatory re-examination of Ukrainian citizens recognized as partially fit for military service, along with the establishment of a deadline for this procedure. A total of 313 deputies voted "in favor."
This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The deadline for the re-examination by the Military Medical Commission (VLC) for those deemed partially fit has been extended from February 5 to June 5.
Additionally, the law states that re-examination by the VLC is not mandatory for individuals under 25 years of age and for those who have been duly recognized as persons with disabilities.
As a reminder: On May 4, 2024, law №3621-IX came into force in Ukraine, which amended the legislation regarding the social protection of military personnel and police officers, abolishing the "partially fit" status.
According to paragraph 2 of the Final and Transitional Provisions of this law, Ukrainian citizens who were recognized as partially fit for military service prior to its adoption must undergo a re-examination within nine months from the date the law takes effect to determine their fitness for service.
Therefore, individuals who previously held the status of "partially fit" must re-examine with the military medical commission by February 5, 2025.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that e-referrals for the VLC are being introduced in Ukraine. These can be obtained through the "Reserve+" application.
