Unauthorized fishing gear discovered and confiscated within the Sulinsky Nature Reserve

On January 30, 2025, the State Environmental Inspection of the Central District conducted activities aimed at preventing and detecting administrative offenses. These activities took place near the village of Svyatilovka in the Kremenchug district, in collaboration with the water police sector of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Poltava region, covering the waters of the Kremenchug Reservoir within the administrative boundaries of the "Sulinsky" reserve.

Through the joint efforts of inspectors and police officers, unauthorized fishing gear was discovered and confiscated—seven gill nets with a total length of 445 meters, containing various species of fish weighing a total of 200 kilograms. The live specimens were released back into their natural habitat, while the other fish were transferred to a fish receiving enterprise.

The inspection continues to carry out activities aimed at preventing and identifying instances of illegal fishing of aquatic biological resources, including in protected natural areas.
