The General Staff responded to the transfer of aviation technicians to infantry units.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reacted to the reassignment of critically needed specialists from the engineering and aviation service of the Air Force to infantry units.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
“The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially states that the reassignment of critically needed specialists from the engineering and aviation service of the Air Force, who service aircraft in infantry units, was not planned and is not planned. Instead, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are, on the contrary, increasing the number of technical and flight personnel,” the statement reads.
At the same time, it is noted that certain categories of personnel from the Air Forces, as well as from other branches and types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will reinforce the Ground Forces, Air Assault Troops, etc., after prior training at training centers.
“The situation at the front is challenging, with a shortage of infantry soldiers in many areas. The decision to reinforce frontline ground brigades with servicemen from units of other branches and types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a necessary step by military leadership to strengthen our defense,” clarified the General Staff.
It is emphasized that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has prohibited the transfer of specialists in high-tech fields and those who have undergone training abroad on foreign models of weapons and military equipment from their current positions.
Recall: earlier, media reported that specialists from the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be widely transferred to the Ground Forces in 2024 and early 2025 to replenish combat brigades.
