Canada has implemented new sanctions against Russia.

Canada has announced the imposition of sanctions against 31 Russians and Russian paramilitary groups that support aggression against Ukraine.

According to the statement from the office of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

It is noted that at the summit "Securing Our Future," the Prime Minister announced new sanctions against 10 individuals and 21 entities, including paramilitary organizations and their leaders, "to help counter the use of foreign organizations and countries by Russia to promote its political and military goals in Ukraine."

The new sanctions target "9 leaders of post-Wagner paramilitary organizations, one member of the associated higher Russian military leadership, 9 paramilitary organizations operating in Ukraine and within Russia's African network, as well as 12 related organizations responsible for resource extraction within this network."

"In total, Canada has imposed sanctions against over 3,000 individuals and organizations linked to Russia's aggression. Canada is firmly committed to continuing to work with partners to increase economic pressure on Russia," the government statement reads.
