In Ukraine, the xPON technology is being actively implemented, allowing users to access home internet for up to 72 hours during power outages. This technology is already utilized by 46% of Ukrainians, as reported by “Osviatoria”. For students, this means uninterrupted learning during scheduled and emergency power cuts. An interactive map has been created to show where this technology is available.

The map indicates the provider's phone number, connection fees, monthly subscription costs, and the number of hours the internet works without power. The Wi-Fi markers on the map are color-coded to show the duration of internet availability during outages: yellow – up to 16 hours, light orange – up to 24 hours, orange – up to 72 hours,” explains “Osviatoria”.

To ensure Wi-Fi operates at home during outages, users need to additionally connect the router and the optical terminal ONU to a power bank.
