The Lutsk City District Court has sentenced 26-year-old Ivan Lyashuk for hooliganism. The man, along with a friend, fired shots at a Volkswagen vehicle in which the driver was present. For this act, the accused has been fined 17,000 UAH.
According to the verdict dated February 25, the incident occurred on January 16 on Bankova Street in Lutsk. Around 10:00 PM, two intoxicated men approached a Volkswagen Golf, where a 28-year-old driver was seated, and fired four shots at the vehicle. The owner of the car was unharmed. He called the police, who detained the hooligans and seized a traumatic pistol. Experts assessed the damages inflicted on the victim at 34,000 UAH.
One of the detainees, 26-year-old Lutsk resident Ivan Lyashuk, admitted his guilt and expressed remorse, pleading not to be punished harshly.
Judge Olesya Kalkova found the man guilty under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism) and imposed a fine of 17,000 UAH. The decision can still be appealed in the appellate court.
