In the heart of Lviv, a 30-year-old assailant brutally attacked a passerby during the night.

On Sunday, March 2, a 30-year-old resident of Lviv brutally assaulted a 28-year-old passerby on Svobody Avenue in the center of Lviv. The victim, suffering from severe injuries, was taken to the hospital, while the attacker was apprehended by the police.

According to the Lviv region police, on March 2 around 4:00 AM, an assailant violently attacked a 28-year-old resident of the Lviv district on Svobody Avenue in Lviv, after which he fled the scene. The injured man, suffering from serious head injuries, was transported to the hospital and is currently under medical observation.

After reviewing footage from the "Safe Lviv" surveillance system, law enforcement officers arrested the attacker, who turned out to be a 30-year-old resident of Lviv. It was also established that a sudden conflict arose between the two men, both of whom were under the influence of alcohol.

Investigators have informed the detained individual of suspicion for intentional serious bodily harm (Part 1, Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The perpetrator faces a prison sentence of five to eight years.
