Ukraine and Lithuania have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the defense industry, reported on Monday, November 4, by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. The memorandum outlines joint production of drones and other defense equipment.

The cooperation memorandum was signed during a meeting between Rustem Umerov and Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas in Kyiv. The document was approved with the assistance of the Ministries of Defense of Ukraine and Lithuania, the Ministry of Economics of Lithuania, and the Ministry of Strategic Industries.

“In particular, the memorandum provides for joint production of UAVs and their components, ammunition and parts, electronic warfare systems, and the development of advanced technologies,” – stated Rustem Umerov.

The defense minister did not specify where the production will take place and which weapon models the countries will manufacture.

Recall that at the end of October, Lithuania announced an investment of 10 million euros in the production of the Ukrainian missile-drone "Palyanytsia." The funding will be directed straight to the weapon manufacturer following the "Danish model."

Additionally, the Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation and a Ukrainian company signed a memorandum regarding cooperation in building a new generation RDX explosives manufacturing plant in Lithuania. Construction work is scheduled for 2025.
