Ukraine will receive Sentinel 830R boats from the Royal Australian Navy.

As part of its defense assistance, Australia will provide Ukraine with 14 high-speed maneuverable RHIB boats. This was reported by the Australian Department of Defence on November 5.

The latest military support package from Australia, valued at $14 million, aims to strengthen Ukraine's maritime and coastal defense. The defense ministry believes that the Royal Navy's boats will provide Ukraine with fast and highly maneuverable maritime capabilities.

Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, Australia has provided over $1.3 billion in military support and more than $1.5 billion in total support to the Ukrainian government.

“Ukraine has demonstrated its ability to thwart ongoing Russian attacks from the Black Sea. We are proud to contribute to this vital maritime defense with this new package,” emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles.

The Sentinel 830R is an inflatable boat with a rigid hull manufactured by Sentinel Boats. They can be utilized for operations in both riverine and maritime environments. The boats are quickly deployable and require minimal maintenance, ensuring that Ukrainian forces remain operationally ready to carry out tasks.

Assistance from Australia

In October, it was revealed that Australia would transfer dozens of Abrams tanks, which were in service with the country and are being replaced with newer models, to Ukraine. The tanks will be delivered as part of a new assistance package worth 245 million Australian dollars (approximately 164 million USD).

Additionally, at the beginning of November, Australia delivered several Joint Direct Attack Munition Extended-Range (JDAM-ER) glide bombs that were retired from the Royal Australian Air Force inventory.
