Presidential elections have begun in the U.S., and the results from the first polling station are now available.

In the United States, presidential elections began on Tuesday, November 5. Initial results are coming in from the town of Dixville Notch in New Hampshire. This is reported by CNN.

Dixville Notch is located along the U.S.-Canada border in the northern part of New Hampshire. The polling station in the village opened and closed immediately after midnight. This has been a tradition for the residents since 1960. After each election, votes are counted here and results are announced several hours earlier than in other states of the U.S.

The publication reports that four Republicans and two undeclared voters cast their ballots in the village. Kamala Harris and Donald Trump each received three votes.

In 2020, the village voters unanimously chose Joe Biden, while in 2016, four out of seven votes went to Hillary Clinton.

On November 4, it was revealed that over 75 million Americans had already voted early with their ballots. According to Axios, this is nearly half of those who voted in the previous elections, indicating the growing popularity of this voting method and mail-in ballots.

A few days before the elections, the British polling company Focaldata conducted an extensive survey among Americans. According to sociologists, the Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris is expected to win the U.S. elections.
