In Poznań, a 28-year-old Ukrainian woman driving a BMW caused a traffic accident by crashing into a streetlight. Following the incident, the intoxicated driver assaulted the medical personnel who arrived at the scene. This was reported on Tuesday, February 11, by the TVP3 Poznań channel.
The accident occurred on Hetmanska Street on Monday, February 10, at around 19:40 (20:40 Kyiv time).
Police spokesperson Anna Kloy stated that the 28-year-old driver failed to maintain a safe speed and lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the car crashing into a streetlight and energy-absorbing barriers.
Officers who arrived at the scene found that the woman had nearly 1.5 promille of alcohol in her blood. The driver was arrested and taken to the police station.
Emergency medical personnel also responded to the scene. According to police findings, the 28-year-old woman and her 27-year-old passenger, who is also Ukrainian, behaved vulgar and aggressively.
Later that evening, police received reports from two paramedics working at the accident site about assaults on their integrity and threats from the Ukrainians. An investigation is underway regarding this incident. The police are determining the circumstances and progression of the event.
