A resident of Ivano-Frankivsk was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison for smuggling a batch of drugs into the Transcarpathia region.

The accused was found in possession of 700 grams of Alpha-PVP, LSD, and MDMA.

The Mizhhiria District Court found Serhiy Fedyk guilty of the illegal transportation of drugs with the intent to sell in particularly large quantities. For bringing a shipment of Alpha-PVP, LSD, and MDMA into Transcarpathia, the resident of Prykarpattia was sentenced to 9.5 years in prison.

As reported by the police of the Transcarpathian region on January 14, the incident occurred in the summer of 2023. The drug dealer was apprehended by law enforcement at a checkpoint in the village of Torun.

“During the inspection of the Opel vehicle, which the resident of Prykarpattia intended to use to enter the region, police discovered drugs in one of the bags. Approximately 700 grams of narcotic substances, including Alpha-PVP, LSD, and MDMA (ecstasy), were seized from the vehicle. He was transporting these prohibited substances to Transcarpathia for the purpose of further distribution,” law enforcement officials stated.

Prior to the court verdict, the suspect was in custody. For the illegal transportation of drugs with the intent to sell in particularly large quantities, Judge Yuliya Sydorenko sentenced Serhiy Fedyk to 9.5 years in prison with confiscation of property.
