In the near future, over 200 Ukrainian athletes, coaches, and sports professionals across the country will participate in training sessions led by experienced instructors.
This is the first large-scale example in Ukraine of systematic first aid training for the sports community in Ukraine. The ambitious project is supported by the Favbet Foundation, which consistently promotes the development of Ukrainian sports, sports infrastructure, and social and educational initiatives both in Ukraine and abroad.
The inaugural training session within the project took place on January 12. Throughout January and February, a total of 10 training sessions will be held for 200 gymnasts, athletes, judokas, and other representatives of the sports community. Over the course of 8 hours, participants will learn skills that can save lives: they will be trained to stop critical bleeding, assist unconscious individuals, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and more.
“Our goal is simple yet vital: to ensure as many people as possible are capable of providing first aid and are prepared to act in emergency situations. We hope this stage will serve as a foundation for further scaling the initiative across the country. We thank all participants for their motivation to learn, and our partners for supporting such an important project,” stated the director of FAST, Yevgeniya Zghurova.
“The value of human life is our top priority. In the context of an aggressive wartime situation, we see a critical need to enable Ukrainian athletes and coaches to acquire practical skills in first aid according to globally accredited standards. Relevant knowledge can help save lives in emergency situations—both in military conditions and in cases of health emergencies and sports injuries. By supporting this project, we are investing in the safety and development of the sports community in Ukraine, as well as fostering a culture of responsible attitudes towards life and health. Together, we are laying the groundwork for a strong, educated, and united society,” commented the Favbet Foundation.
