In Ukraine, plans are underway to draft over 160,000 conscripted men. This was reported by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, on Wednesday, October 29.
During a session of the Verkhovna Rada, recorded on video by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, Oleksandr Lytvynenko stated that currently, 1 million 50 thousand citizens have been mobilized into the Defense Forces. However, the authorities expect to draft a larger number of men.
“It is planned to conscript over 160,000 individuals. This will ensure the staffing of military units up to 85%,” – reported Oleksandr Lytvynenko.
Lytvynenko did not specify the timeframe for mobilizing such a number of citizens in Ukraine.
It is worth noting that the day before, on October 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted draft laws to the Verkhovna Rada regarding the extension of martial law and mobilization. According to the draft laws, mobilization and martial law could be extended until February 7, 2025. Already on October 29, the Verkhovna Rada supported the draft laws.
