This film is France's national candidate for the Oscars, directed by the renowned Jacques Audiard, and will hit the big screens in Ukraine on November 7.

The film participated in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where four actresses in leading roles received a joint award for Best Actress. Created by director Jacques Audiard, a winner of the Cannes Film Festival's Palme d'Or, the Silver Lion at the Venice International Film Festival, and BAFTA and César awards.

“Emilia Pérez” is a unique genre mix that combines elements of noir, melodrama, comedy, and musical. The film tells the story of Rita, a lawyer who is underestimated at work. Additionally, she realizes that with her help, criminals evade justice. One day, the protagonist receives an unexpected offer. She must assist a drug cartel leader in escaping the criminal world and executing an incredible escape plan: to become the woman he always dreamed of being.

The leading roles feature Zoe Saldana, known from the “Avatar” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchises, and Selena Gomez (“The Dead Don't Die,” “A Rainy Day in New York,” “Spring Breakers”). Gomez, who is also a singer, recorded an original song for the film titled Mi Camino. The cast also includes Adriana Paz and Carla Sofía Gascón.

The animation is directed by Dave Derrick Jr., marking his feature directorial debut.

The music for the animated film was composed by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa'i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.

The trailer broke the viewership record for Disney. Auli'i Cravalho, Dwayne Johnson, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Scherzinger, and Alan Tudyk return to voice their characters.

“Maria”

Maria, premiering on November 28, directed by Pablo Larraín

Director Pablo Larraín has described “Maria” as the concluding part of his trilogy of biographical films about iconic women of the 20th century. Larraín's previous works — “Spencer” with Kristen Stewart about Princess Diana and “Jackie” with Natalie Portman about Jacqueline Kennedy — received Oscar nominations in the Best Actress category. The lead role is played by Angelina Jolie.

The world premiere of the film took place at this year's Venice Film Festival. The film focuses on the last years of Maria Callas's life, the operatic icon known worldwide.

After Callas left the stage, she moved to Paris, where she lived in elegant yet painful solitude. The film explores her memories, regrets, and quest for redemption while offering an intimate look at the woman behind the artist. The story highlights Callas's personal and professional struggles, as well as her tumultuous relationship with Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, her great love that left a profound mark on the life of the opera diva.
