Germany has delivered a new military aid package to Ukraine in its war against Russia. This package includes tens of thousands of ammunition of various calibers, equipment, and drones, according to the updated list of military assistance to Ukraine from the German federal government.

“Currently, approximately 5 billion euros have been spent on military aid to Ukraine (2023) and about 1.6 billion euros (2022). An additional approximately 2.9 billion euros were allocated in the first two years of the war for supplies that will only arrive between 2025 and 2028,” the Bundestag press service reported.

The updated military assistance list states that Ukraine has received:

  • 20 mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles;
  • 14,000 155mm shells;
  • 19,000 122mm shells;
  • 600 HF-1 strike drones;
  • 50 VECTOR reconnaissance drones with spare parts;
  • 46 RQ-35 HEIDRUN reconnaissance drones;
  • ammunition for Leopard 1 tanks;
  • 495 HK 416 assault rifles;
  • 11,000 120mm mortar shells.

It is noted that among other assistance, Germany has provided Ukraine with a batch of wool blankets, as well as harnesses and binoculars.

Furthermore, Germany is preparing to supply Ukraine with the following weaponry:

  • Marder infantry fighting vehicles,
  • RCT-30 Boxer wheeled combat vehicles,
  • mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles,
  • RCH 155 self-propelled howitzers.

The exact timing of these deliveries is currently unknown.

Interestingly, the first of the latest RCH 155 self-propelled howitzers are already in Ukraine – on January 13, the German newspaper Stuttgarter Zeitung reported that the first unit of this weaponry was symbolically received by Ukraine's Ambassador Oleksiy Makeiev. In total, the country is ready to deliver 54 such self-propelled howitzers.
