A fatal accident occurred on October 29 at around 12:30 PM in the village of Bushytino in the Tyachiv district. After colliding with a truck, the driver and a female passenger of the minibus lost their lives. Law enforcement has initiated a criminal case.
As reported by the police in the Zakarpattia region, a 56-year-old resident of the village of Teresva, driving a Ford vehicle, crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a Mercedes truck driven by a 23-year-old resident of Khust.
“The minibus driver and his 46-year-old passenger died at the scene of the accident. Additionally, a resident of the village of Iza in the Khust district was hospitalized,” law enforcement officials stated.
The truck driver was sober at the wheel. The police have opened a criminal case for violations of traffic safety rules that led to the death of the victims. The penalty under the statute ranges from 3 to 8 years of imprisonment, with a potential ban on operating vehicles for up to three years, or without such a ban.
