In Transcarpathia, a serious accident involving a flipped BMW resulted in the deaths of two individuals.

In the early hours of March 3, in the Khust district, a BMW collided with a restaurant fence at high speed and overturned. As a result of the accident, both the driver and a female passenger lost their lives.

According to reports from the police in the Transcarpathian region, the incident occurred around 1:00 AM near the city of Khust. The 40-year-old driver lost control of the BMW, veered into oncoming traffic, and then entered the restaurant's premises, colliding with the fence. The impact caused the vehicle to roll into a ditch.

“Preliminary data suggests that the vehicle's speed was significantly above the legal limit. As a result of the accident, the driver and his 38-year-old female passenger died at the scene. Another 38-year-old woman, who was sitting in the back seat, has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Khust district hospital with injuries of varying severity,” the authorities stated.

Investigators have initiated a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules resulting in the death of a victim. Expert examinations will be conducted to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
