In the Kremenets district of Ternopil region, a driver of a passenger car fatally struck a pedestrian. The victim was crossing the road in a prohibited area. Following the collision with the vehicle, he was taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, he died in the intensive care unit.
The fatal accident occurred on the evening of Sunday, November 3, near the village of Pidlisci in the Kremenets district. On the road "Domaneve - Kovel - Chernivtsi - Terebovlia," the driver of an Audi A4 hit the pedestrian, reported the Ternopil police on Monday, November 4.
The driver called the authorities and an ambulance to the scene. The police who arrived at the location determined that, preliminarily, a local resident of Pidlisci was crossing the roadway in a prohibited area when he was struck by the car.
The injured man was transported to the intensive care unit by paramedics. However, they were unable to save his life.
In connection with the fatality, the authorities have initiated a criminal proceeding under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic rules resulting in death). Samples were taken from the driver to establish blood alcohol levels. The investigation into the fatal traffic accident is currently ongoing.
