On Monday, February 3, residents of Stari Sela in the Rivne region blocked the operation of a checkpoint for several hours to express their dissatisfaction with the border guards' work. The locals demanded an end to the inspection of vehicles and military registration documents for men, as well as permission to gather wild plants. As a result of negotiations, the conflict was resolved. This was reported by Yuriy Shakhaichuk, the press officer of the 9th Border Detachment named after the Sich Riflemen.

A video showing a crowd gathered at the checkpoint in Stari Sela, located in the Sarny district, appeared on TikTok on February 3, posted by a local resident. It shows several vehicles and about one hundred locals blocking the road.

“The locals demanded the dismantling of the checkpoint where border guards and police are stationed, requested that inspections of vehicles and military registration documents for men be stopped, and asked for permission to collect wild plants near the state border,” Yuriy Shakhaichuk reported.

Additionally, according to Yuriy Shakhaichuk, the people were unhappy with the fortification of the border. After negotiations, the crowd unblocked the checkpoint and dispersed. Meanwhile, the border guards reported the incident to the law enforcement authorities.
