In Lviv region, a Range Rover driver struck a 51-year-old cyclist. The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
As reported by the police press service, the accident occurred on January 29, around 14:10, on the road between the villages of Chanyzh and Perevolochna in the Zolochiv district. Preliminary investigations revealed that the Range Rover, driven by a 41-year-old resident of one of the villages in the district, hit the 51-year-old cyclist. The cyclist died at the scene from her injuries.
In connection with the accident, investigators have opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 (violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code. The perpetrator faces a prison sentence of 3 to 8 years.
