The third film in James Cameron's "Avatar" series is set to contrast sharply with its two predecessors. The first "Avatar" showcased the lush planet of Pandora, while the second highlighted the beauty of its oceans. In "Avatar 3," subtitled "Fire and Ash," the initial released images suggest something entirely different.
The film's production designer, Dylan Cole, provided insights to Empire. The publication revealed the habitats of the Ash People, also known as the Mangkwan, led by Varang, portrayed by Una Chaplin.
“They experienced a natural disaster that shaped their culture. Much of Pandora's world is rich, vibrant, and full of life – here, it’s quite the opposite. They used to live less fully compared to the Omaticaya from the first 'Avatar',” Cole explains.
“I want to depict cultures that differ from those already shown. Fire will be represented by the 'Ash People.' I aim to present the Na’vi from a different perspective, as so far, I have only showcased their positive traits,” quotes James Cameron as reported by ITC.
